Good evening everyone,
Kim finished her reconstruction surgery and entered into recovery at 4:45PM. According to her doctor, she is doing better than expected! The total time she was in surgery was just over 5 hours. Her plastic surgeon said everything went great and that he was able to fill each of the expanders with 300cc of solution. I was a little shocked at the amount because this morning he did not seem to think he was going to be able to put much, if any, inside. As expected, he placed tubes into her chest in order to help drain any fluid that might form. He also said he hooked her up to a special IV to drip pain medication directly into the implant areas. That should help reduce the pain in the short term. I hope to be able to see her in a couple of hours.
