Hi everyone,
Kim sends her love and appreciates all your support! I got to see her this evening and initially she seemed ready to go home. Lots of thumbs up and happy thoughts! After about 30 minutes, things changed. Her pain became so severe that they had to administer morphine in order to minimize her distress. Unfortunately, the morphine makes her want to scratch (A LOT!) and moving her arms even a little causes severe pain. The morphine also leads to nausea so they are trying to dial in the correct amount of pain killer with an adequate amount of anti-nausea meds. This is a tricky combo!
At about 11:30PM, she wanted to try and walk a bit and she was able to take about 20 steps before needing to lie down again. I'm praying that the pain subsides enough to allow her to rest tonight! She is on a clear diet and ice shavings are her friend.
The mercies of the Lord are new every morning and so it's with anticipation that I look forward to tomorrow!

Good Morning Stacy-
ReplyDeleteWe will keep praying for Kim and you all. Here are some words of encouragement I would like you to share with her today. Love, T
Psalm 23:4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and Your staff protect and comfort me.
Psalm 23:2-3a He lets me rest in green meadows; He leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength.
Psalm 56:4a I praise God for what He has promised. I trust in God, so why should I be afraid?
Kim & Stacy,
ReplyDeleteYou are in my prayers today! I am praying for peace and comfort for Kimi.
James 5:15
And the prayer that is said with faith will make the sick person well. The Lord will heal him.
I have faith and I am praying.
today my devotion verse for today was..
Isaiah 46:4
And even when you are old I will take care of you. Even when your hair has turned gray, I will take care of you. I made you and will take care of you. I will carry you, and I will save you. (and when you are sick I will take care of you) God is good and faithful!
I love my little sis!!!
Stacy,
ReplyDeleteI want to thank you so much for loving Kimi and being her protector. I thank you so much for this blog!! It is so hard to be 2500 miles away while your sister is going through such trauma. I appreciate so much the time and effort you have put into posting each and every step of the process. I feel so much closer to her. I know that the Lord is there with her and she has wonderful family and friends there to support her. But you are such a blessing!! Thank you! Love, Chris
God answered prayers ALL DAY YESTERDAY! And He can do the same today! Kim and Stacy, your faith is encouraging and refreshing to me and I will continue to lift you both up in prayer today!
ReplyDeleteStacy- I agree with Chris. Thank you sooooo much for keeping us in the loop way out here on the East Coast. It really helps me feel connected long distance. You are truly a gem of a husband and I thank the Lord for you being there for Kim as a great husband & daddy! :-)
